Our Program
We offer 2-5 year olds a high quality, learn-through-play program taught by experienced teachers and teacher assistants in every class. Our classes are busy, fun-filled spaces where all children are welcomed and encouraged. If you are looking for a playschool where your child can play and get ready for kindergarten all at the same time, please contact our registrar today to arrange for a visit or talk to one of our teachers.
We have no classroom roster duties or cleaning bees, but there are plenty of opportunities for parents to be involved!

We celebrate seasons and holidays with special days and events. At the end of the year, each child receives their own scrapbook of photos and crafts, capturing special moments from throughout the year.
Registration & Fees
Registrations are taken on a first come, first served basis. Our school year runs from September to June. Registrations are accepted throughout the year as spaces are available. To register you need to:
Complete a registration form 2023-2024.
Pay a non-refundable $100 registration (please make cheque payable to Westend Community Playschool).

Class Schedule & Tuition Fees
3.5-5 year AM Monday/Wednesday/Friday
9:00 am-11:15 a.m.
$105/month (Including $70 government grant)
2-3 year AM Tuesday/Thursday
9:00 am-11:15 a.m.
$75/month (Including $70 government grant)
The tuition you pay for your child does not cover all of the costs needed to maintain the playschool program. The rest of the funding comes from fundraisers that we run every year and a volunteer-operated casino (run every second year).
Additional Government of Alberta Subsidy is available to those who qualify.
Student Eligibility
Age Requirements:
2-3 Year Old Class- Your child must be 2 by the start of classes in September 2023
3.5-4.5 Year Old Class- Your child must be 3.5 by the end of December 2023
Tuition Payment Methods
We accept 3 forms of payment:
Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP): Your PAP form needs to be completed and submitted at our tuition payment event, along with a void cheque.
Bi-annual: Two cheques, one dated for September 1st and a second dated for February 1st.
Annual: One cheque, dated for September 1st for all 10 months of registration.
*No rebate or reduction of fees is allowed for temporary absence or holidays.
Withdrawal: In the event that a child needs to be withdrawn from the playschool, the parent must provide one month’s written notice (on or before the first day of the month) to the Registrar. However if a child is withdrawn for the month of June, that fee will not be refunded. If a child is withdrawn before the start of classes but after August 1, the first month’s tuition will be charged.
